London - Winter Wonderland & more!

Hi!

So at the weekend I went down to London. We went to the Winter
Wonderland at Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, The London Eye, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament, Leicester Square, Harrods  and Westminster Abbey.

Winter Wonderland is a massive Christmas market (the theme is traditional Germany) with an even bigger fairground. There are all sorts of stalls selling mulled wine, hot chocolate, candyfloss, Christmas decorations, sweets, gifts and so much more. The fairground is home to some of the scariest rides I've ever seen! It's all brightly lit and there are several bands playing and campfires dotted around, so the atmosphere is amazing. Also, the whole place smells of pretzels and chocolate!

The London Eye was also amazing, the view was great. I've been on before (a couple of years ago) and since then they've added a couple of new features, one of which is two tablets per pod/car/thing. The tablets have a program on which shows an image of the view as you see it from the top of the eye, and you can click on a building to find out lots of information about it (e.g. its name, how tall it is, when it was built etc.) Also, we were all looking for the Gherkin (which is a building if you didn't already know), and a little girl who was obviously from a different country started saying, "Where's the pickled cucumber?" It was so funny!

I'm not going to go into detail about the other things, but we had the best time. I also want to mention that there might not be another blog post until next year. I'll try and get one up, but if I don't, have an amazing Christmas and a happy new year! I do have a lot of posts planned though, so there won't be a lack of posts when I come back anyway.

See you soon,

Lucy x
